إن مثل هذا التاريخ تم التأثير عليه ليخدم مصالح القوي والجهات الأجنبية ، في حقب معروفة خاصة منذ القـرن التاسع عشر ، ولهذا فهو يتطلب الآن إعادة قراءاته ، واستنطاق دلالاته بشكل جـديد ، للوقوف علي علاقات الماضي بين شعوب هذه المنطقة ، وأوضاعها الاجتصادية والسياسية ، وعوامل قوتها وانحسارها أو ضعفها.
